Costs for Backpacking in Nepal? 1 Year, 1 Month ago Karma: 1
A commonly raised question would be how much will it cost to visit some popular place in Nepal?

Backpacking in Nepal is inexpensive and highly affordable. It can always be full of adventure and it would really depend what sort of adventure one is seeking for?

Once you land at Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu, Nepal; the journey to beautiful Himalayan region begins. It is inexpensive to travel around Nepal.

Arrived at Airport - What is next? - Day 1
  • Taxi Transfer to the Hotel
  • - Estimated Cost : Nepali Rupees - 300.00

  • Get to Thamel or Durbar Marg (Assuming You Stay at Lazimpat)
  • - Estimated Cost : Nepali Rupees - 120.00

  • Continental Food - Now this would depend on an individual. It should be enough for a good food and a bottle of beer.
  • - Estimated Cost : Nepali Rupees - 650.00

  • Back to the Hotel around Lazimpat from Durbar Marg or Thamel
  • - Estimated Cost : Nepali Rupees - 190.00. The fare increase after 7:00 PM Nepali Time. The day shift and night shift rates are different.

Total Cost from Airport to Hotel and Back and Forth to Night Street would cost around - 1260.00 Rupees Approximately US$100 +/-

So the day 1 at Nepal should be interesting.... Go Backpacking Go Nepal...

1 THB = 2.26 NRS

100 THB 226 Nepali Rupees

It would be quiet difficult to recommend a Hostel or Homestay near airport as there ain't many hostel or homestay near the airport. I would suggest you to stay near Chusyabahal (Jyatha Tol) - Kathmandu Temple House or near koteshor as those are the most closet place to stay near airport. It might cost around THB 600 Bhat for a night to stay. Not too many homestay in Kathmandu and it is highly recommended to stay in Hotel like Aloha Inn or some lodge.
