How many days are needed to visit Nepal? 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 1
This another frequently raised question. How many days are needed to visit Nepal?
Simple answer - "Nepal Once is not Enough"

Now if you are going for a Pleasure & Cultural Visit. Divide your first trip for -
Kathmandu - 4 days
It is quiet straight forward to divide your tour in Kathmandu to visit temples, tapovan, and enjoy the Nepali meals. Normally 4 days would be enough to stroll in Kathmandu and near by places like Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Nagarkoat, Tapovan and visiting famous Temples like Pashupatinath, Swaymbhnath, Boudha etc. Observing Nepali culture and learning tradition and culture would be a thing to mark in the dairy.

Pokhara - 3 days
Pokhara is the natural beauty of Nepal. Annapurna Mountain Range View, Fewa Lake and Mahendra Gufa (Cave) are commonly visited areas. Bir watching and boating in fewa lake is a one of the most beautiful way to see the natural beauty of Nepal. It is a nice way to walk and visit the beauty and culture of Nepal. It is indeed a life time experience to go for a self hiking or trekking on the foothills of Pokhara.

Lumbini - 2 days
Lumbini the birth place of Buddha. This is one of the most religious place for both Buddhist and non-Buddhist visitors. It is a place where you can observe Tharu culture and stroll around ancient place and old place is worth viewing.

Remember the real beauty of Nepal is seen via roadways travel.

I would agree that the days given on the above answer are correct, but only for the very miminum amount of time. Kathmandu, you could easily spend a week there. Lumbini is spent one night and found that to be enough, unless you are really into your meditation. Pokhara is just a good chill out town before or after a trek.

However, do not forget Chitwan National Park. This is a must for a trip to Nepal, ride an elephant while looking for tigers is an amazing experience. Here you will need at least two days.

Hope this helps.

You could just spend a few nights in Kathmandu for a fascinating city break, but if you are travelling on a long-haul flight then it makes sense to extend your stay if you are going all that way.... and get a taste of trekking, maybe take an Everest scenic flight if you do not want to trek and go to Chitwan National Park for a couple of nights, perhaps Nagarkot for a night to see the amazing sunrise and sunset views if you are short on time. It really depends on how much time you can spare. If you want to do one of the longer treks you might need to allow 3 weeks. It is up to you and what you want to see and do. Then you will want to go back again and see more of this gem of a country....
